Stories Beach

I know this isn't a garden......but it is a living thing.....it was so wild and windy out at Stories Beach today, that I just had to be there. Problem was, the wind was so fierce, that it was hard to stand and hold a camera. That's what was so enticing....being part of this raging storm as it pounded and cajoled.
Far off on the horizon, I could just make out this huge cargo.......logs, I think.....not sure how the crew was dealing with the waves...up and down and up and down............and up and down. Seasick, anyone?

Waves seemed to fall into the shore, with rapid succession.
Waves crushed smaller waves as they approached the beach

Beautiful blues. Loved the feel of the wind.

On the shore near to us were scuba divers that had just come up from the depths. But not a lot of visitors to Stories Beach....too rocky and wavy, and too noisy. The wind and surf was thundering so aggressively, it was as if a freight train came pounding through the beach.

Walking along logs back from the surf.

Looking down towards point

Long low surf, and low tide

Driftwood....now this would be stellar in a graden!

Explosion.....

One day, there were hardly any blooms, the next day.....BOOM.........can't keep up with them all.

Isn't this just the most lovely shade? Like velvet......

Heart shaped Creeping Jenny.......love how it trickles down the wall.....

Curry Plant

"They are not long, those days of wine and roses: Out of a misty dream our path emerges for a while, and then closes within a dream." (E. Dowson 1867-1900)

The roses at the front finally decided to bloom......must be that nice new , rich soil I plopped down at their roots, early in April.

Roses in barrels......or buckets.....whatever works......

Back terrace, looking up

I see a plum.......I think it's the only one.....all by itself........poor plum.....

"If there was nothing else to trouble us, the fate of the flower would make us sad."
(J. L. Spalding)

Second terrace.....smoke bush and rose and cranesbill....

"Observe this dew drenched rose of Tyrian gardens......................" (C. Rosetti)

Smoke Bush went POOF in the night.....

Tall Campanula, front hill........they seem to like to propagate wherever they feel like....

Cranesbill, Curry Plant, Campanula Takesana..................top tier.....must love the compost.........

"I will be the gladdet thing under the sun........I will touch a hundred flowers and not pick one! " (Edna St. Vincent Millay)

Buzzin' good time

I waited long enough by the flowering sage to catch these bees playing with the flowers. Absolutely love watching the bees........we're all good friends.....
"Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it, so it goes on flying anyways." (M.K. Ash)
