SPENCER's SOGGY BOGGY DAY

It was a soggy day in the New Year. Spencer sat on the porch. He thought wistfully of his cozy basket back home.
Fog rolled around in the forest below. The mountains were  puddled with snow.
Spencer did not like the snow. Spencer did not like the rain.
But he liked his new cushions.  On the bench. On the porch.
Smokey did not mind the rain. He liked to bounce in the puddles. He liked to play.
Bo was most serene. She did not know about rain .  She saw the sun rise and set on her kingdom.
Spencer saw Bo in her window.  Rain spattered  on the porch. Flick  flick . Went his paws.
He sat in his moss pot and vocalized. He liked to sing. He was a talented cat.
What a soggy day. He decided to sit in his moss pot for a while. Maybe the puddles would go away.
Then he sat on the bench. He could see the chickens next door. They cackled.
But it was still soggy.  What would Spencer do? He would have to leap over the puddle.
 On this soggy boggy day.
Twitch went his ears. He could see the sun. Low on the horizon.
Cordelia saw him from her fence. She did not care for Spencer.
She did not like the wet and soggy bog of a day.
The rain had made puddles everywhere. They were beautiful mirrors .
Pine Siskins were eating seeds. They did not care for cats.
 Smack, smack, slurped Smokey.  Snacks.
Cordelia did not care for snacks when it was this chilly and wet.
She saw Spencer leap up onto the gate.
Better to see the Pine Siskin nibble seeds.  Spencer mused.
 Oh smack, smack. Went Spencer.
Sniff , sniff. Went his nose.  He   looked into the remnants of the sun.
Smokey lay on the bench and watched Spencer.
He chased up to the hill to see Cordelia.  But Cordelia had gone home.
While Spencer danced the sun set. On this soggy , boggy day.
Then it was time to go home. The puddles had  vanished. His day was done. Life was good.
