Elk Falls Provincial Park is a provincial park. Basically part of Campbell River,British Columbia, Canada. 1,807 hectares of forest and camping, hiking, and everything green, green, green.― Virginia Alison
In 1940, Elk Falls was created, to protect the waterfall and canyon. There wasn't a suspension bridge then. It is very new, put up in 2015. Great place to take visitors as it is really convenient. There is a beautiful huge staircase that leads down to the bridge, not easy if you have walking difficulties.
In 1947, the John Hart Dam and Generating Station was completed, followed by two other dams upstream,

89 foot drop ( or 27 metres). Crash goes the water to the rocks below.
The Waterfall is the same throughout the year,no matter what. But sometimes, when the rain has been torrential, the water thunders a bit more.....and swooshes into the basin.
Platform is raised. Perfect for photographs. The suspension bridge over Elk Falls Canyon is not that long and not that scary. Even I have been able to walk across........

Elk Falls Provincial Park 2017. People spend about 1 1/2 hours here, and the peak times are after 11am. Easy trails to walk. Beautiful forests.Lots of parking.
