I WALK THESE STREETS
Sing. Oh sing with abandon. Sing with love beyond all else. You once fresh green things, now disowned, lying on the earth.
I walk these streets. Rivers and oceans I splash with stars of silver and moons of glitter. My eye has not seen, my ear has not heard. My being reaches into the wind.
I confess I have not been listening. But I am a quick learner. Tell me again. And I will listen.
With the wind that rushes by. With the rain that dashes against the trees. You are the One who has made all things.
I walk with that wind, to find clouds laced with treasure.
The world is new again. Swathed in lavender roses. The last hint before snow lingers.
It's fragrance that of some sublime, unknown perfume.
I watch the year breathe. It sighs. It dreams. It will sleep with those dreams.
No heart can imagine the hope. The grace. But my heart can.
I walk these streets. With One who is always there. At times I have forgotten.
You turn the world into flaxen hair and claret wine.
Flames flush across the land. Faster and furious.
It shall all begin again. When the world springs new.
But for now, go to sleep. Sleep till the days are young again.
Harbingers sing of a world of white to come.
I will choose shades you have never seen. Every knee will bow down in heaven and earth. We will walk in the shadow and the light.
As long as I walk these streets you will see me. Hear me.
Then we will rush into His wonder ...
