Though the weather may prove to be impossible for most, the Snowy Spencer is at one with the elements.....
and his brother, the ever-vigilant Smokey, always hopeful for snacks, or a scratch on the head, or both, prefers the safety of a dry step. Marvelling, as it were, in the jocularity of the snow day. Observing from afar.
When one is accosted by the Snowy Spencer, one must keep still at all costs, so as not to disturb the moment. One must accept the fact that one is apparently considered a playmate, and one must co-operate by letting the Snowy Spencer chew and kick. This only encourages the tenacious cat to further exploits.
When one is waiting for playtime to be up, hoping that one's boot will be left intact, one may marvel at the crystals of snow hanging from branches......
Or watch Juncos perch on the highest tree. Way out of reach of the Snowy Spencer. Remember: patience IS a virtue. The Snowy Spencer will do his utmost to terroize your foot into submission. Be sure to stand still. This is very difficult, and requires the utmost concentration. To the Snowy Spencer this is second nature.
Be sure to turn your gaze upwards, away from the Snowy Spencer. High up in the closest tree, you will see Juncos. Remember, the Juncos see YOU....

Searching out snowy burrows to hide in.
Waiting to pounce when one walks by...........
And before long, playtime over, the Snowy Spencer decides it is time to travel home. Finding his way along the trail, that he and his brother made long ago.
