Newly open the Hawk's Excursion Zip Line Tour at Mt. Washington
The "Hawk Excursion" is considered a half tour. Stuart and Morgan tried it out last weekend.
Span 4 - 2,372 ft. long, (723 metres), 18% grade, 427 vertical ft. drop.
Span 3 - 1643ft. long (501) metres), 24% grade, 395 vertical ft. drop.
You have to reserve a time to take the tour. Prices are about $89 per adult ( 19-64 yrs of age)
There's a height requirement: between 4' and 6'8"
Close fitting clothing only . That way you can't get caught in the equipment. The guides were very professional, very focused on everyone's safety, and made sure that all the participants met the requirements.
The zip line will not operate if there is a threat of lightning and people being electrocuted
That and high winds.......or too much mist to obscure visibility
Morgan said the half tour goes half way up the mountain. In a few months they will offer full tours to the top.
Only downside is that carrying all the gear is really cumbersome, and quite heavy
But the view was worth it!
The zip line itself was fast, fast fast. Morgan said about a 100Km. Zoom. She said the brake on the zip line had a handle you pulled to go faster and then raise to slow down.
Seven people plus two tour guides were with them. But the tour can handle 12 people.
Zoom they went. Up and down the zip line. Zoom.In the wide blue yonder.....
