Baby, it's Cold Outside...

  Oh the weather outside is frightful ( well, for Vancouver island it's frightful). Everywhere you turn. Greasy snow, slopped onto everything. There really IS a difference in snow.  Here it is wet and a little slimy, cause we're in a rainforest. I thought the Heads would appreciate some hats and scarves.

 Never ceases to amaze me how quiet becomes the surrounding forest. Snow seems to have a dampening effect. Makes everything look like Christmas......

 When driving around here beware of black ice and sliding. Just a dusting sends so many people over the edge. Cars crawling around at 20Km an hour. Pedestrians carrying shovels, just in case they may have to dig their way to the car. It can happen.

Cheep Cheep. I have tons of birds in the yard. All of them stuffing their beaks with seeds. They keep the visiting cats amused..........

Spencer prefers his water from the birdbath. From there he can see where all the choice bird nuggets can be found. He can be seen leaping from snow to bush in attempts to catch one. Today  he was so distracted by the snow............

.........but he made great paw prints in the snow...

 Everything has quieted down with the snow. In the yard and in town. Even the Home Hardware parking lot looks deserted.

And then it's night. And the lights    shine through the frost. Tomorrow we've been promised a deep freeze overnight. That means icy roads and maybe even a snow day.  Baby, it's Cold Outside..
