I've inherited a lot of roses. Some were gifts. Some just showed up .
I hardly know the names of any of them.
They just bloom every year.
Kind of like the cats that show up in the garden.
I know a few of them . Like the yellow lemonade rose.
And the Black Bacarra. Smells like chocolate.
Oh, and....hello....where did the Cosmos come from. A rose wanna be............
I douse everything with sea soil. And a good dollop of fish fertilizer.
No sprays, no chemicals.
Except for some Bobbexx deer repellent. Otherwise there would be no roses.
The deer will eat the roses .
As if they were gummie bears.
Or candy coated jelly beans.
Of which the deer make plenty.
And the roses seem to thrive. For some reason.
Even though I don't fuss over them.
Except to take their pictures. And marvel at how beautiful they can be.
