How does it go: March In like a Lion, out like a lamb?
Wonder what the Thrushes would have to say about that....They are very noisy today....
And the deer were still here at dawn, the street light pink, for some odd reason. The deer scooped up the last of the seeds scattered under bushes and drier places. Not afraid are they....
I've learned that snow cats are very brave. They sit under the eaves and watch the snow. Or, watch you shovel it.
Until it is treat time. Like little teddy bears they snort and purr as they gobble their 6 little pebbles of treat.
The forest is getting another blast of winter. So fast so soon. It sways under the extra snow. And I just thought we'd gotten rid of it. Not so fast. In like a lion, out like a lamb.....
Snow cats are a rare breed. They watch from afar . They chase you in the snow.
Streets are slick with wet snow. It may not look like a lot, but for here, with our hills and wet rainforest, this becomes icy. Lamb at the end of the month, you tell yourself. Lion for now.
Rose leaves frozen with snow and ice. Melting. Then freezing..
Street packed with snow. No plow. Where or where is that lamb?
Thrushes sing their melodic warble ending with almost a purr like quality in their song. Like a cat.
Where oh where are the snow cats?
They're here. One on the ledge. One on the porch. Waiting for March to disappear. They think they're lions. I can hear the roar now......
