Shhhhhhh. Don't tell anyone. It's Spring.....

I won't talk too loudly. The rest of the country, deep in snow, might hear me. But it's ( ready for it) SPRING! Toes in dirt. Yes. Really. Warm dirt. Warm compost. Dug into the dirt. Worms squiggling over your toes.....
.......Crocus blooming away. The deer haven't found these ones yet. They tend to like hyacinths and crocus the very best.  And daffs. And tuplips. None of which I plant. Cause the deer will eat them.
Geese returning. I don't think a lot of them actually leave. They tend to stay around . But I like to believe that they have come from far away to be here . World travellers.

Again. Don't keel over, but the rhubarb is punching up through the ground. And Toes can go in dirt. It's all rather  marvellous.  But don't tell anyone. Huge secret this part of the country.
White cats, like Cordelia, can once again climb the plum tree, which is just starting to bud. I think Cordelia would like to be in Cirque du Soleil............but don't tell anyone.
Buddleia starts to shows its stuff in the sunrise......one of my favourite bushes.    Thrushes, those that have stayed past the snow. Still sit in trees, so they can warble and trill and make spring sounds. It all sounds a bit like a children's book. Maybe in some way it is.....I'm sure there's a happy ending in it somewhere.

And the Cats. Oh the cats are out in full force. Climbing the trellis.............
Snoozing in the first warm sun. Thatta boy, Spencer, purr to your heart's content.
And walk the fence. Trees red and flush, ready to pop with leaves...........
But my hill is ready for sweet peas in April..............................all dug and  not too pristine, but ready to go.I like it a little messy.
And  cats (the neighbour cats) can bask on the cement one more, drinking out of buckets of water, getting into mischief.......and  toes can drop  shoes and squish into  dirt. Shh, don't tell anyone it's Spring....
