Snow Days.......... in sight of Mt. Washington

The nights have been so cold. So clear. The mountain has been looking incredibly photo-worthy. early in the morning, as soon as possible I sneak out to the front hill to see.
At the same time it's  time to get the last minute orders and gifts out.I like these runners a lot. They are made out of three Stars: Ohio, Sawtooth and Christmas Star. I've had bird fabric hanging about for a couple of years. Perfect for the border. So added some gold lame and few other fabrics and fringes. Took a few days to get done. But with the snow, what else would I do?
And at night the moon has been crystal clear. One night you could see the old moon cradled in the new moons arms.
With a mountain line so perfect, it looked as if someone had drawn it in charcoal.
Snow days for outdoor cats. Spencer  has shown that he gets positively silly when it comes to snow.  He hunts the birds, leaps at me, and tumbles down the hill as if he wants to be a snowball.
More days of snow, and cat cookie cutters have been showing up. first one then more. One group even had a mouse cutter. Just screams "shortbread" on a day like today....
And today it is cold. Cold. Cold. The forest all the way up to the mountain tree line is  heavy in snow.
Sunrises come slowly and pink.Outdoor cats , like Spencer, pop around like snow popcorn.
Indoor cats, like my Bunny, perch to watch the birds fly up. Never knowing the chill of snow. Then together we "Rap" together ( double pun intended). Wrap presents and giftie bags for friends and acquaintances. Being more lenient than usual, I let Bo and Bunny tustle with ribbons for a while, before confiscating them and they head for the fire.  It is a great Snow Day.
