Campanula takesimana

"Lord make us mindful of the little things that grow and blossom in these days, to make the world beautiful for us."
(W.E.B. du Bois 1868-1963 American sociologist, author, historian, activist)

Most romantic , I think, of the flowers that bloom in June.
Also known as Korean Bellflower.
Grows basically anywhere you want it to.

Dry soil. Wet soil. Sandy soil. Clay soil.

 Purple. Pink. White.

As white as Cordelia, one of the cats from the hill.
Good companion flowers are Cranesbill, Hosta, Phox.

The Cranesbill grow wild here. They reseed themselves. And the Korean Bellflower along with it.

It blooms in early summer. Mid summer. Late summer. Depending on the year.
Bunny resistant; it makes a great cut flower.Full sun or partial shade.

"Nature is a revelation of God" (Longfellow 1807-1882)
Needs quite a bit of space, but worth it in the long run. After a while, you'll find yourself moving clods of dirt from one end of the dirt to another, just to make it spread.
Divide in spring or fall. Stuff into pots. Stuff into the ground. It only lasts a few weeks at first. So lovely.

And watch the bees go crazy as they dart in and out of the heavy bells.

It's definitely one of the most beautiful flowers of the growing season. And easy, easy easy....

"In all things of nature there is something marvellous."
                                                  (Aristotle 384 B.C. - 322 B.C.)
