NORTH ISLAND WILDLIFE RECOVERY CENTRE

“If we can teach people about wildlife, they will be touched. Share my wildlife with me. Because humans want to save things that they love.” ― Steve Irwin
These photos are from a day trip  from last fall to the Wildlife Recovery Centre on Vancouver Island.1240 Leffler Rd, Errington,
I've been  here before. An amazing place. Surrounded by forest and park.
You can see falcons, eagles, ravens.....
Can view them through the most wonderful flight enclosure.
 And of course OWLS!
 My favourites are the owls.....
The Centre rehabilitates injured and orphaned native wildlife, especially concentrating on the  raptors and black bears.
Fall seemed to be a quieter time to go. I think I went there , in the summer, a few years ago. In the fall, classrooms were visiting.
“Wildlife in the world can only be protected by the love of compassionate hearts in the world!” ― Mehmet Murat ildan
 Turtles in the pond....
I think this is Trickster, the Raven, a long term resident, very friendly.........
Many events are held annually, like  the Eagle release.
Great staff. Good tours. You can spend easily spend the afternoon.
The Centre often  takes in cubs from all over the Island. They are cared for and then released into the wild once more..
Bring a lunch and prepare to spend a couple of hours....
“Whenever we encounter wild animals in nature, we must only ever show kindness and compassion.” ― Paul Oxton
