WAITING on a SNOW DAY

"Snow is falling, so much like stars, filling the dark trees that one could easily imagine its reason for being was nothing more than prettiness..." -Mary Oliver
The mountains crushed with snow.
Hum Hum waits for me to change over his frozen feeder.
While the Jays wait for fresh water in their water bowl.
"Snow flurries began to fall, and they swirled around people's legs like house cats....."

-Sarah Addison Allen

And the neighbourhood cats started to gather by the windows.
Some didn't really like the snow.
Tucked away in corners are roses from the summer covered with ice and slush.
And tucked away on the steps you will find Sweet Simon.
Snow. Sleet. Hail. Rain. Wind.
North Island winter.
Bashes against the windows like gravel being thrown by giants.
"Winter is putting footsteps in the meadow..."

-Roman Payne

North Island snows
And the birds wait
And the hill is impassable. So we wait.
Just the Snow cats still come .
To see  the flying snacks.
As they sit in the trees.
And wait.
"Is it snowing where you are? All I see from my tower is draped in white...." -Jean Webster
