Gold eyes, peering out from gold leaves. White Cat is on the hunt, prowling for little birds that flock to my back garden to feed. The grapes are just about ready.......all 6 bunches......not a lot this year.
She sees birds.....but they foil her most often than not. The leaves are changing rapidly these days, and the wind is colder, and the weather wetter. White Cat is damp from the leaves, but she still purrs .
The Weeping Katura tree changes along with the rest........the birds still find sanctuary...

RED SKY at NIGHT
Red Sky at Night.......shepherd's delight. This sunset only lasted 8 minutes. It started hot hot orange and gold..................
Then somewhere, hot pink was added to the orange...one of all time favourite colour combinations....
Then slowly the entire sky was filled with purple, mauve, pink and fading orange......
Till the strands of colour began to wane and wobble into pale wisps........
And the mountains were left with only a smothering of cotton candy pink........
Took 8 minutes until the sky was a dull grey blue once more......but for 8 minutes today the world was spectacular!

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon...
Sunday afternoon, sun is streaming in..................time to hang off the top of the chaise lounge and get comfortable......
You know it's bound to happen......one arm slips ever so slightly over the edge, and you're falling downwards into oblivion.........or, at least, over the edge of the lounge.
And then there's the Sunday afternoon where you just can't seem to sleep.......and life is just one big bounce and flop from sun patch to sun patch. But in the end Sunday is meant for regrouping, whether it be grooming one's fur, or falling off a lounge, or finding that perfect sunny spot...

PEEP'S WORLD
Decided to do a photo group of Peep. We had to euthanize her this weekend. At 14 she had become so very odd in her behaviours, obssessive compulsive, senile and territorial over bowls of ice....and when she was a ktten in 1998, she loved her water.....albeit she was a LOT smaller then.
And now.................
Little Bo and Peep ( get the name combination?)
The three amigos......Pye in the centre....licking all of the cat nip toys. I use a spray bottle catnip on the toys and the three of them would go snaky.
Peep loved her teddy best......wouldn't let the others near it.Not sure what was going on in her mind.
Ice. In a bowl. Peep would lick the ice as if it was a cat nip popsicle. Still not sure what was going on in her brain.....She would even stand guard ( well, that's what we thought) over the ice.
And as always, Bo thinks she is the most beautiful.................
Into the twilight...reflections from prism balls hung in the front window.,..
I think cat feet are fascinating, coming and going.......

9-11 Moon
Today of all days.....this is an untouched photo of the moon , taken long after sunset. Looks like the sky is on fire. Very hot days, must be a reflection of some sort. What an odd weekend. First on Friday, there was the earthquake. A 6.4 earthquake, to be exact, located on the other side of Vancouver Island, off Tofino. I felt it, before it came. I remember having a sudden migraine and being very dizzy.....then all the huge potted flowers started to shimmy and sway. And a "wave" rolled from the top of the hill, under my feet and down . Walking was very difficult... in fact, there didn't seem to be a lot of walking, just a lot of swerving.....There was no damage until today...a shelf in the kitchen collapsed over head, and down crashed a ton of dishes. Shards and pieces of china all over...... what a mess to clean up.
And then today, being the 10th anniversary of 9-11...there is this big moon, looming in this very odd sky. It has been a wild and wooly weekend.....and the crickets are getting louder and louder each night. I wonder if they think they are being swallowed up by the moon....

Sweet Pea Jungle with Little Black and White Cat
To think that this year, I believed that there would not be any sweet peas. It was such a cold spring and nothing sprouted till late. Took these on the last Monday in August and was surprised by the veritable jungle that has exploded over the front pathway. Never have I had sweet peas last so long and be so hardy, or roses, for that matter. And without even trying.
his is little Black and White cat. Have no idea of his name. He lives down the block, an outdoor cat in all weather. Kind of wonder if his people look after him at all. But he's been brushed lately, is very sweet and gets treats from everyone around here. Happy cat. Follows me around garden, flopping, whenever he gets the chance.
Front path, roses buried from sight. Can't even see the earth under the sweet peas. This is my idea of gardening...a florific profusion pulsating madly.
Never planted the sunflowers........they sprung from bird seed, left from the winter. Each one of them a surprise.
Peace roses peering fearfully out from underneath the sweet pea brush.
And Little Black and White Cat, ever constant, plops down on the path, just where I was picking.
Roses, sunflowers, Lavatura, Sweet Peas all clamouring in silent chorus. If I could hear them, I am sure they would be saying "weed me..."
Nice life...........
At leastLitt Black and White Cat found his way up the stairs. Others may not be so lucky.....have no intention of cutting back on the sweet peas....they shall continue to drape themselves languigly over the cement, until they and the others bloom no more.

Sweet Peas on their way out
Couldn't resist. One last bunch of sweet peas. Might get more, but they are definitely slowing down. Still smell sweet, only not as strong. I also love this old tablecloth. This is the one that my grandmother started, but never finished, then my mum worked on it for a while, then gave it to me to finish, when I was a teenager. It is very small...just tea table sized. Depicts the old blue willow pattern. I remember cross stitiching it one summer till it was done, using some of the originally embroidery thread my mum had kept.
