A Bird in the Hand

Hundreds of Pine Siskins  bopping around the yard. One flew over and bonked his head.....
 Just before sunset.
Just as Cordelia hopped up on the fence.
 Stunned himself. Nomadic little finch.
Little Pine Siskins. Erractically wandering all across the continent.
Chomping on all the seeds they can find.
 Gregarious little things.
You can hear their wheezy tweet twitters before seeing them mass.
Little Pine Siskin weebled and wobbled.
While Spencer craned to get a gooood look.
Opportunist and adaptable little Pine Siskin.
And his  zillion brothers and sisters.
Bunny heard them twittering all at once.
 Smokey saw him.
 Yummy. They all probably thought.
 How nice. A snack.
 And what service.
 Brought right to the door.
Just as the sun went down.
 A bird in the hand..
Is worth two in the bush. Be thankful for what you are blessed to have.
No need to look elsewhere.      Little Pine Siskin.        Fly....
