AGAINST a WINTRY SKY

The CAT PLANT does rise. Can Spring be far off...........even though winter is still here....
There is a budding Morrow in Midnight by Christina  Georgina Rossetti (1830-1894) Author of the Christmas carol "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "Love came Down at Christmastime"
Wintry boughs
Against a wintry sky.
Yet the sky is partly blue
And the clouds are partly bright
Who can tell...........
But sap is mounting high
Out of sight
Ready to burst through.
Winter is the mother-nurse of Spring
Lovely for her daughter's sake.
Not unlovely for her own.
For a future buds
In everything
Grown or blown
About to break..........
"Melancholy were the  sounds on a winter's night..." -Virgina Woolf

  1. Thank you and great photography capturing the places I knew so well. Gosh who created or made the sculpture in the garden, looks like the Easter people on that far off Easter Island. Just great to see and read and photo number six especially good. Lots of love Trish xxx
