New Year Henna

 NEW YEAR HENNA by Morgan
The New Year rolls around and it's time to pull out the henna. Shipped from India. Dark and rich and scented with Tea Tree Oil....just the right  amount. ....not too strong.
One year,Morgan made homemade Henna dye, and it worked fairly well, but the dye didn't last long enough, and the tea tree oil was  realllllllly wicked. Had to have a window open it was that strong.   Getting it from India, already made into cones, seems to be the best. Not too strong and the cones have the right consistency.
Henna comes from a plant called Lawsonia inermis. It can be found in places like Egypt, Tanzania, Afghanistan, a slew of other countries , Africa, Asia and parts of Australia. It seems to be everywhere.
Henna has been a favourite for Hair for over 6000 years.
Historically, back in 2100 B.C. it was recorded that women stained their skins before being married.

Now we do it because it's so incredibly cool.  The skin becomes a canvass for another medium.
In Hindi , Henna is also known as  "Mehendi" ( old Sanskrit). Very long ago , henna was meant to showcase the inner and outer sun.Now it represents good fortune and luck.
Designs can be completely random. But you can also get inspiration from designs you find.
Morgan gets inspiration from designs she researches, then makes up her own adding elements that she has learned.
You can be as elaborate as you want .
Having Henna applied is incredibly soothing.
The final result will look rather orange. Not to worry, over a few hours it will darken.
And then you can start on another  design, once the dye dries and hardens.  Once it is scraped off you will see it darken into a true henna pattern.

  New Happy Year 2018!
